Geoff Baker, who you might know from my sleeve notes as the gentleman who recorded my vocals for the Bash Myself EP and has been helping me lay some down for the new album too (along with other things, he’s a bit of an enabler), was until fairly recently in a band called 6000 Red.

They did pretty well, getting some interesting ad placements in the US like this one:

But the reason I’m writing about them today is that last night I saw their clip for the song in that ad, I Wanna Be Like You, showing on the Northbridge Piazza screen and it was a nicely subversive bit of video to be showing in the otherwise pretty bogan midst of Northbridge on a friday night. There’s cross dressing and kind of broody, Garbage-ish dance music, I think you’ll like it.
