Awwwww
This is the new clip from Hot Chip. They are one of those bands who simultaneously excite and repulse me. The way they play with the bits of 80’s pop culture that everyone would rather forget amuses me and makes me laugh, but if they catch me in the wrong mood, those same affectations will send me into the kind of anti-80’s rage I usually reserve for the unredemable likes of Van She.
Anyway, this video has a nice handmade quality to it, which is kind of the difference between a glossy, overproduced piece-of-shit-band like Van She. There’s personality and honesty and all that good stuff behind the bubbling synths.
