I was doing some research into some different ways of selling music on the web and I came across this page on Bandcamp by Triobelisk. I’d read about them on some electro blog or another last year when they put out their last record, but hadn’t thought much of them. Tonight I had time to listen to some spacey disco though, so I clicked around their new EP Distant Star.

The title track doesn’t do much for me, but there’s a nice bouncy house remix by Publique that clubs it up a bit while retaning the feel of the original. The real find here though is b-side Modal Nodes; it lulls you into a false sense of security with  a simple, if slightly wonky rhythm, waits a minute or so and then slams you into a Japanese game show. Streiber is a pleasantly quiet, gelatanous blob of groove as well.

The rest of the tracks on there aren’t quite my thing, but I’m definately feeling those three this evening.
